Revival Ink Apparel

What a cute design on the shirts above and below. I like the scrolls and all that jazz. Makes them look fun and interesting. the sea horses are really cute and once again I love the scolls. I'm a lover of swishes, swirls, scrolling designs - I guess it's the girly girl in me.

Tara the artist and owner of Revival Ink Apparel hand draws and designs all of the pictures and prints that are on her apparel. She's been doing it for 3 years now. Since Tara cares about the environment, the ink and fabric they use in their apparel is eco-friendly. The hand drawn designs are all printed on the bamboo or organic cotton fabric with non-toxic water based ink. They say that the fabric is so soft that you just can't stop touching it. All the original artwork is created to highlight the cuts and shapes of the clothing. They not only have art on the front or back - but also on the sleeves, hoods or pockets. That's pretty darn unique.... I like Unique!
Tara said that each print is pulled by hand, no two are alike. (I'm not certain what being "pulled" means but it sounds as though it's part of the creation process) perhaps Tara will be able to comment below, and answer this at some point.

Once gain Revival Ink is an artist owned and run business. Tara is the designer, illustrator, and printer for all the garments. She has a silkscreen workshop in the basement of her house, and totally loves what she does.

Thanks for featuring me! I really enjoy reading about fashion on your blog. To answer you question, when a print is pulled by hand, it is referring to using a squeegee (and my arm power) to pull ink over the screen, and press it through the screen onto the garment. Since I do this by hand, the prints all come out slightly different, making them unique. Large companies use an automated press, and all the prints are excatly the same.
Thank you very much for explaining this to us Tara. I have never done silk screening myself so I didn't know the term.
It all sounds so interesting!
It is certainly interesting for me to read this article. Thanx for it. I like such themes and anything that is connected to this matter. I definitely want to read a bit more on that blog soon.
